Picture Lock: Women in Cinema Panel
After the success of our "State of Black Cinema" (below) panel in February, Picture Lock is honoring Women's History Month with a "Women in Cinema" Panel. Our expert panelists in film and television will examine the state of women in cinema and their contributions, large and small, to the art. We will also examine the evolution of women in above the line crew positions, the Bechdel test, the portrayal of women in film and television and more.
The format will be a live to tape studio audience discussion. Guests will have a chance to mingle at 7:30pm, with the town hall beginning promptly at 8pm.
This event is FREE and open to the general public but there is limited seating in the studio, so you must RSVP through Eventbrite in order to attend this event.
Anchor confuses Samuel L. Jackson, Gets Roasted!
In honor of the up coming Picture Lock and Districtly Speaking town hall focusing on the state of black cinema on Feb. 24th, I found this interview for the upcoming nationwide release of "Robocop" timely, and quite hilarious. Watch as KTLA's entertainment reporter, Sam Rubin, is stunned and then roasted by Samuel L. Jackson after Rubin confuses him with Laurence Fishburne. Know your entertainers...especially when conducting an interview with them...regardless of race! :)
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" Extended Trailer
You saw bits and pieces during the slaughter of a Super Bowl last night, but did you see the extended trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"??? This movie looks like it should be the death of Spider-Man. Electro's power alone is ridiculous! I'm definitely looking forward to this film. Check this out:
