About Picture Lock

Created in 2013 by Film Critic, Film Festival Director and Film Publicist, Kevin Sampson, Picture Lock is a leading force in discovering fresh voices in cinematic storytelling. From analyzing Hollywood films to reviewing and highlighting the work of independent filmmakers, Picture Lock is a hub for honest film critique for the indie filmmaker, mainstream film and tv lover, and film and TV enthusiast alike.

How to Experience Picture Lock

The website features film news and reviews by Kevin and his handpicked team of experienced and up and coming film critics.

Tune in to the radio show every Friday from 3 -3:30pm ET (with a re-air at 11am on Mondays) on WERA 96.7 FM Radio Arlington to hear Kevin interview national and local filmmakers as well as talk film with fellow critics. Outside of the Washington, D.C. area? Live stream the show online or tune in and subscribe to the podcast for extended interviews, special unaired content, and PR and marketing tips for filmmakers.

About Kevin Sampson

Kevin Sampson created Picture Lock in February 2013 and is the show’s producer and host. He has a B.A. in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina and an M.F.A. in Film and Electronic Media from American University in Washington D.C. He is a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association, Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association, North Carolina Film Critics Association and African American Film Critics Association
