New Man of Steel Trailer

So when it comes to making a movie about a super hero. Super Man hasn't done to well in the past in terms of satisfying fans and critics. Maybe because his only weakness is Kryptonite. That doesn't make for good drama. Batman is just a man with money and awesome contraptions. His parents were killed in front of him, and that left him with anger issues. His character has depth because of it. Superman...how is life hard for him? With the latest trailer for Man of Steel, it looks like Warner Bros has caught on to the key. Clark looks more "human" by having him deal with the dilemma of being a being with power on a planet of humans.

I think this film may actually revive Super Man's image. Even though it's an automatic tent pole film (films that will automatically bring in the big bucks) I think fans won't be disappointed.

Breaking Bad Spinoff

I'm a huge "Breaking Bad" fan. So it pains me to think that I'll be getting closer and closer to the light that is at the end of the series tunnel. However, the thought of a BB spinoff with the franchise's supporting characters...I'm not quite sure what to think. Should they go that route? There have been successes with spinoffs in the past. I'm not sure if I see it with Saul though.

Can't Hate On Mr. Perry!

tyler-perry.jpg

I have to admit, Tyler Perry is not one of my favorite directors. In fact, if you want to see my growl or give a side eye just bring him up in conversation in regards to cinema auteurs. I have a love/hate relationship with his films. On one side, I love his business genius, his hustle, the fact that he knows his market and churns out work like a robot. My hat goes off, and I nod in admiration/respect. However, when it comes to the screenwriting and the films...only a few do I mind watching for the 5th time on TBS.

With his latest film, Mr. Perry has put another notch under his belt. Nine films that he has directed have grossed $20 million in the opening weekend. So although he doesn't come up in my list of top 5 directors, and maybe any cinephile's list, he does need to be celebrated and respected more. The fact is, whoever is in your top 5, Mr. Perry is doing just as well as them...if not better when it comes to the bottom line. 2 Guns

Umm. There was only one actor in Hollywood that I wanted to be like growing up. I studied all his films, and even tried to imitate his smooth walk. There's only one actor in Hollywood that can go from boy band, to solo singing career, to headlining some of the better action "every man's man" type of films. The combination of the two is never something that I would have pictured, but since it has been done, I can't wait to see this movie.

Academy Award(R) winner Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg lead an all-star cast in 2 Guns, an explosive action film that tracks two operatives from competing bureaus who are forced on the run together. But there is a big problem with their unique alliance: Neither knows that the other is an undercover federal agent.

Washington's presence in any film makes me willing to pay the ticket price. This just looks like a fun buddy, action, crime drama that will entertain. It's set to release in August in theaters nationwide.
