"The Hollywood Blackout" Kickstarter Launch

After the response to my “Open Letter to Black Screenwriters” just a couple of months ago I couldn't shake the idea that the issue needed to be pursued further. As a filmmaker myself I thought it would be appropriate to shoot a documentary on the subject of the lack of diversity in Hollywood films. The documentary is entitled "The Hollywood Blackout". Check out the campaign on Kickstarter!  This won't be a documentary exposing the issues that we already know exist. This documentary will search for solutions to implement.

If you support/believe in diversity in film you can help contribute to make this movie a reality by doing a couple things that won’t hit your wallet and will only take 5 mins of your time.

If you'd be so kind to:
1) Share the link to the Kickstarter campaign on Facebook and Twitter. (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/872672641/the-hollywood-blackout)

2)We're using the hashtag #endtheblackout on Twitter and Facebook to start convos surrounding the issue. Share your story with diversity in film or the lack their of.

3)Change your Facebook cover photo to the project’s Facebook cover photo in support of the film on the day of the launch (or at any point during this month of campaigning). It can be found at www.facebook.com/thehollywoodblackout. The more people that change their photo, the more exposure the campaign will get.

If you do have the means to donate to the campaign it would be most appreciated, but I understand times are hard...if you can, no matter how large or small it will make a difference!

Thank you so much for reading this and helping out. I really think this film will help take steps toward seeing a change in Hollywood films.

Thanks,

Kevin
